My CPA filed what I gave them. Bookette asked what was missing.
The expense was in the receipt I never sent.
Built for landlords and consultants. Bookette reads every receipt, invoice and statement you upload, matches each one to the right business or rental property, runs the depreciation and per-diem math, and drafts the expense side of Schedule C and Schedule E.
The free report is the whole report — every line, every export. No card until you pass 25 pages.
2 pages left on free. More than 25 pages of receipts? Raise the cap to 500 pages for $149.
Landlords
One property or six. Schedule E per property, depreciation from your closing statement, and county tax payments split across parcels when one confirmation covers two homes.
Consultants & freelancers
Schedule C expenses from your card statements and invoices — home office, mileage, and the travel where per diem and the receipts you actually kept are both worked out, side by side.
Short-term rental hosts
Cleaning fees, supplies, linens and turnover costs — sorted per listing, with the fair-rental-day count your accountant needs to place a stay on Schedule E or Schedule C.
Drop everything in
PDFs, phone photos, bank CSVs, property-manager spreadsheets, mining pool exports. No pre-sorting, no renaming. Re-uploads are caught by content hash, not filename.
Answer a few questions
Bookette proposes your expense lines from the documents themselves — a rental at an address that keeps recurring, a client whose invoices keep appearing — then asks only what it can't read off a page.
Hand your CPA a draft
Schedule C and E line by line, a depreciation worksheet, per-diem versus actual on every trip, and the source file behind every dollar. CSV, XLSX, PDF.
Ten days, two countries, and the receipt I never uploaded
Ten days of work travel: five in Taipei for a conference, then a flight straight from Taiwan to Austin for a client. I came home with a phone full of receipt photos and dropped the whole pile into Bookette.
It found the per diem rate for each city on its own — Taipei runs on State Department foreign rates, Austin on GSA — then put per diem and my actual receipts side by side, city by city. Per diem was higher in Taipei, my receipts were higher in Austin, and the choice stayed with me.
Then it caught the thing that mattered. I had forgotten the hotel receipt for the Austin half. Instead of quietly dropping five nights of lodging, Bookette noticed the gap and asked one question: was the second half of this trip business or personal? It was, so those nights went into the draft instead of disappearing.
No CPA has ever asked me that. They process the ledger you hand them.
Two cities, two rate tables, and both figures for each city. 75% M&IE applies on the first and last day in each country.
Free gets you the whole report
You pay for volume, not for answers. 25 pages covers a freelancer with a tidy year. A landlord with two properties will run out around March.
Up to 25 receipts or pages per tax year.
Up to 500 receipts or pages. Refundable for 14 days.
Payment is not connected yet. When it is, this button opens Stripe Checkout, and no card details are entered in Bookette.
Past 500 pages, or organizing on someone else's behalf.
Contact is not connected yet. Enterprise starts with a conversation about your file.
Bookette is an organizer and a drafting tool, not tax filing software and not tax advice. Every figure points back at the document it came from, so your preparer can check the work.
